James has launched his new book, titled: 'My Kitchen' and its on sale in the online shop on this website now!… so grab yourself a copy – personally signed by the Yorkshire man himself!
Here's a little about the book to 'wet your wistle'
My Kitchen is the brand new collection of James Martin's favourite seasonal recipes. As the face of British food, James knows how to cook for an audience. But what happens when the cameras are turned off and it's time to feed himself and his friends? Here he shares the recipes that see him through the year, with plenty of easy and irresistible ideas for fantastic food, even when there's no occasion. James firmly believes that fresh, local ingredients are always the best, and he often uses his own home-grown fruit and veg in his everyday cooking. The recipes are organised by the seasons and James also includes ideas for using different cuts of meat, harking back to an era of 'waste not, want not'. Determined to prove that game, such as grouse, rabbit and venison, is not only affordable but also very delicious, he finds versatile ways to turn these meats into mouth-watering dishes that everyone will love. With over 100 no-nonsense recipes from James's personal repertoire, all explained in his straightforward and easy-to-follow manner, this is a book which cannot fail to inspire healthy, hearty home-cooked food.
James visited the Huddersfield Student Union to prove to students that you can make a cheap and healthy meal in less time than it takes to get a takeaway. A load of students from across Kirklees gathered at the Union to watch James compete against the clock to create a delicious and healthy alternative to a takeaway before it arrived.
The event was another exciting part of 'Up For It', a campaign which has brought fun and entertainment to students from Kirklees, to show them that healthy cooking can be fun and anyone can do it!
The cookery event was a fun and interactive experience that allowed students to get involved and try different dishes whilst getting inspiration for their own dinner parties. The students also had the opportunity to sign up for the next stage of the campaign, a Come Dine with Me challenge, where they can win a prize of
