Ingredients

Apple Strudel
  • 12 Sheets of filo
  • 8 apples peeled and sliced
  • 100g sultanas
  • 60g brown sugar
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • Splash of rum
  • 150g melted butter and cooled
To serve
  • Crème fraiche
  • Icing sugar
Baked Apple
  • 6  bramley cored

Filling

  • 100g sultanas
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 50g caster sugar
  • 25g butter

Or a jar of mincemeat

Method

Apple Strudel

  1. Pre heat the oven to 180c.
  2. Mix the apples sultanas sugar cinnamon and rum together.
  3. Brush the sheets of filo with melted butter, laying them evenly on top of each. Fill 1 side with apple mix then flip the pastry over and seal
  4. Bake  at 180’c for 15 minutes then lower the temperature to 150’c for a further 30 minutes. To an even bake and golden in colour.
  5. Slice dust with icing sugar and serve with a dollop of crème fraiche.

  2. Mix the sultanas cinnamon and sugar together and fill the apples .
  3. Pop onto a baking tray and bake for 30 minutes.
