Ingredients

  • 200g all butter puff pastry, cut into 6 x 10cm circles
  • 250g caster sugar
  • 125g butter
  • 6 pink lady apples peeled, cored and halved
To serve
  • 330g vanilla ice cream
  • 200g cocoa butter
  • Green and red food sprays

Method

Shape the ice cream into 6 apple-shaped moulds and then re-freeze. Coat in melted cocoa butter and then re-freeze again. Finally, spray with red and green colouring.

Pre-heat the oven to 200°C.

Melt the sugar and butter in a large oven proof pan, pour into 6 moulds and top with apples. Set to one side to cool.

Put the pastry on top of the apple, tuck the edges in, and bake in the oven for 30 minutes.

To serve, tip out the tart and serve with the apple-shaped ice cream.
