Madeleines with Chocolate Dipping Sauce

Here the classic French Madeleine is served with chocolate dipping sauce. These Madeleines are made with eggs, sugar, vanilla, honey, flour and butter. The delicious dipping sauce is made with dark chocolate. It's a dish made for sharing!

Ingredients

  • 2 tbs runny honey
  • 225g melted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 250g plain flour
  • 250g caster sugar
  • ½ a vanilla pod
  • Extra caster sugar for dusting
For the chocolate dipping sauce:
  • 150g dark chocolate
  • 100ml sugar stock syrup

Method

Pre-heat the oven to 180ºC.

Place the butter into a pan and melt gently, then beat in the flour, eggs, sugar, vanilla seeds and honey. Place into a piping bag and pipe into silicone Madeleine moulds.

Place on a baking sheet and put in the oven for 8 minutes.

Meanwhile make the sauce by melting the sugar stock syrup with the chocolate gently in a pan.

Remove the Madeleines from the oven when slightly golden brown and take out of the moulds while still warm. Dust in caster sugar and place on a plate.
