Ingredients

  • 2 x 200g sirloin steaks
Teriyaki Sauce
  • 100ml mirin
  • 100ml sake
  • 25ml soy
To serve
  • Crispy fried wild rice
  • Watercress
  • Asparagus

Method

Heat the mirin and sake in a pan, bring to the boil, reduce by half, add the soy and reduce by half again. Take off the heat.

Heat a BBQ until hot and the coals are white

Pop the steaks on the BBQ, cook for 4 minutes then flip over and cook for a further 2 minutes. Brush with the teriyaki and rest.

To serve, slice the steak, pop on a plate, top with watercress and rice and spoon over more of the teriyaki.
