Ingredients

  • 1 oblong sourdough loaf
  • 12 slices of good ham
  • 12 slices turkey
  • leftover cooked sausages
  • 12 slices brie
  • 1 jar cranberry sauce
  • Any left overs (bacon and stuffing)
  • 1 small bunch sage – added to bread instead of sauce
Sauce
  • 50g butter
  • 35g plain flour
  • 400ml full fat milk
  • 400ml double cream
  • 2 tbs grain mustard
  • 400g Cheddar grated
  • Salt and black pepper

Method

Heat the oven to 200c.

Heat a pan to a medium heat, add the butter, when foaming whisk in the flour and cook out for a minute or two, whisk in the milk, cream, and 2/3rds of the grated cheese, when bubbling take off the heat and season with pepper.

Cut the bread from the top to the bottom 90 percent through 1 cm slices apart, sit on a large rectangular piece of foil with a base of greaseproof.

Spoon the sauce into each slice and fill with ham and sausages, cranberry sauce, turkey, brie, and sage, spoon remaining sauce over the top and sprinkle on the other cheese. Place onto a tray lined with paper then pop the oven. Cook for 25 to 30 minutes.
